- get rid of the super hard branches of the basil that you don’t think can get chopped up by the blender blades
- blend fresh basil, pine nuts, parmesan cheese, and garlic
- slowly pour oil into blender while blending for desired consistency
- season with salt and pepper to taste
Notes
- ratio of fresh basil to pine nuts is about 2:1 (but can add more if you like the flavour)
- can add garlic and parmesan cheese while blending to adjust flavour
- i’ve heard that you can swap out pine nuts for another nut sometimes but i’ve yet to try
- goes well with pasta
- preserve by covering with a layer of olive oil (creates an airtight seal)
